I started training as a beauty therapist at sixteen — a teenager who found her calling before she’d barely begun. With my mum holding everything together at home, I built something from nothing: first in salons, then independently from 2003, in what used to be an old funeral director’s in Oakdale. (I’ve always loved a bit of a story.) That’s how Oxygen — essential for life — was born. For years, I was your classic beauty therapist. Brazilian waxes, manicures, pedicures — old school, proper, and proud of it. Clients who kept coming back. A reputation built on skill, warmth, and never doing a bad wax. But life had other plans. Through sadness, divorce, the death of my parents, and more life lessons than I can count — I changed. And as I changed, so did my work. I trained in Reiki. Then sound healing. Then breathwork, Gua Sha, warm bamboo, Himalayan salt stones, chakra clearing. I became a Reiki Master. I developed my own signature treatments — the Headspace Ritual™ and the Essential For Life Ritual — born from everything I’d learned and everything I’d lived through. I realised I wasn’t just making people look good. I was helping them feel heard. Helping them release the stagnant energy they’d been carrying for years — grief, anxiety, heaviness, the invisible weight of a life lived at full tilt. Because I know what that weight feels like. I’ve carried it — emotionally and physically. And I found my way through. I’m an empath. I’ve always known when someone walks through my door carrying more than they’re saying. And I’ve learned how to help them put some of it down. I’m not spiritual in a way that makes people uncomfortable. I’m grounded. Practical. Occasionally very funny.
